Pseudolonewolf`s Avatar Weekly Update Mon 19th Apr 2010 11:14pm

Category: Weekly Updates

Sorry this is late; I've been trying to re-adapt to this lifestyle after the trip. I think I'm mostly back in the rhythm of things again now, and I'm working on games - or MARDEK, rather - and getting things done.

I've just been looking at a Timetable thing that I made a few months ago, in January, I think, where I planned out my work for the whole year, and... well. I suppose all I can do is laugh at how badly I've stuck to it... o_O
Supposedly, I was going to work on and finish Raider 3 in February (!), I was going to start, work on and finish the Figimon thing throughout March, including learning AS3 in the process, and April was meant to be spent on Chimaera as a way of making a short project and practicing AS3...
After that, I even had the following months arranged, with May assigned to BE-a-St, June to some other RPG I want to make, etc... I had the individual tasks marked on each day and everything.

I suppose it's mainly the trip's fault that I messed up with this; as I've said previously, it wasn't originally going to be when it was, but weeks later, and when I made the timetable I don't think I knew any specifics about the trip at all...

Either way, I've changed bits of it and tried to structure remaining MARDEK 3 tasks so that I know what to do each day and don't spend too much time procrastinating, wondering what to do each day, as I tend to if I don't have it explicitly planned out.
What I'm doing currently is playing through MARDEK 3 one last time looking for major bugs and adding some 'crucial' stuff that I still haven't added (primarily a lot of dialogue for your allies about their backstories, which you can 'unlock' by levelling them up and hearing by talking to them outside of battle). When I've played through it once and made sure it's all okay and everything runs smoothly enough, I'll FINALLY begin the sponsorship process.
I have no idea how long it'll take to finalise that, but I'll fix the remaining problems while it's going on, hopefully having it 'perfect' by the time I've got a final bid.
Hopefully then, it should be released within 'a month or two'...
By the timetable, it seems that I could 'easily' be contacting sponsors by the end of this month - about a week and a half away - and then after that, I've no idea how long they'll take.

Apart from that, I've got nothing significant to report.
It does bother me a lot how excruciatingly unreliable I am though! I suppose it's the result of a lack of discipline or an ordered environment and so on, as well as all kinds of mental problems and stuff that make work difficult anyway... o_O
I keep hoping that once I'm done with MARDEK 3, I can finally get around to becoming more ordered with my work and more reliable; it's been feeling like it's holding me back for ages now, that game. It'll be so relieving to have it done and released!

So yes. I suppose I should get back to that now, then...!

I may like it, only if the bosses have 2% less hp, even boss #1 was hard on Mardek 2.

Everything was fairly easy on MARDEK 2, dude. I never had any problems, and with the game having a tactical combat system, you can even walkthrough with no major problems. Pseudo, not being a "hardcore 1337 gamer", as he would say, made the game easy enough so you can enjoy the story.

Actually, because one dies against a boss doesn't mean it's too hard. In fact, that's the whole point. The player must have a fair chance of dying against the strong enemies, but he must also have a fair chance of winning. And seeing as there is auto-save in MARDEK, it's not like you're loosing all your progress.

Saddly, the notion of "dying" against bosses has gotten rarer in the games nowadays.

Exactly Tama Yoshi, bosses is supossed to be fought 4-5 times before you win. And normal monsters is supossed to be able to kill in a few strikes with the right strategy.

I think you need to rephrase that last statement. It doesn't matter if the death is against a boss or not, people will still think the game's too hard.

Though it isn't evident when Mardek 3 will arrive, it is however evident that Pseudolonewolf lives a sheltered judgemental life. Next time, as an adult simply make a brief to the point statement as to this being your site and you would prefer the talk of "illegal substances" or holidays related to such not be talked about... Rather than spew your detestable comments and heartfelt anger towards the subject, to each their own perhaps you'd get more done on the game if you allowed yourself to be more open and forget your past, the troubles that occur on the site, and stay out of flamming toss backs, you're 22, not 11, act it.

I've been through more hardships than I can count, and your paltry troubles with your father may seem harsh, but their nothing, I assure you many have been through worse including myself, simply because you have a crowd of people here to lift you onto that high horse you sit on does not give you the right to judge.

So you know im sure those that gave him a +3 rating did so because his belief and joy was shared by others, so in that respect, you hate the attitude of however many people rated him +3 or less, I'd bet you rated him negatively, as I did yourself, he shared something was open, and cheerful, making a jovial statement you decided to berrate him about and make whiney childish personal judgements, wake up the world isnt pretty, and if you ever judged someone so openly and I were there in reality, honestly I'd knock you on your ass whether I aggreed with the guy or not.

Now get to work and stop bitching, whining, moping, and procrastinating, I ran a business, if this is even a part time business you'd be sunk by now. Thousands of people are waiting, finish mardek 3 and stop being a judgemental dictator.

Oh yes, I should just either write a long, long list of 'things I don't wish you to comment about because I don't like them', shown on every page or something...
That person was expressing a facet of his mind (sort of) and I was expressing mine... And yes, this is you expressing yours, but it's just too much...

Anyway, you're having a go at me for expressing disgust at one person's irrelevant comment, yet this comment here of yours is far, FAR worse, full of bile and insults, and it's more aggressive and condescending than mine was at all... It's rather hurtful too, and I wish I'd never written that damn comment and, well, I'm going to ban you - even if you might say that could be a 'childish' reaction - because you're either a deliberate troll taking advantage of a situation, or someone with an attitude that doesn't belong on this site. Hmm...

Uh, actually, I did ban this person, but I don't ban people lightly and tend to feel guilty if ever I do... Usually I just put it off for longer than I did here.
I'm curious about whether banning him just makes me seem even more like a 'childish, judgemental dictator' or something... I'd be interested to know if people think it's fair to give instant bans for comments like this.

(The reason I did so though was 'attitude' rather than opinion; this person's approach to things was basically pure aggression or something and that doesn't seem like the sort of attitude me and others would appreciate, maybe... If he'd said the same thing in a different way, perhaps it wouldn't have been so, uh, ban-worthy.)

Pseudolonewolf, you hereby have prove you are better than Valve. No one, simply no one else can procrastinate with such godly style, and it's not any sort of sarcasm. Really.

Feel free to take your time to finish MARDEK. As long as it turns out great, people will be happy, and you won't be that rich but will get some money, hopefully, and the longer you polish it, the brighter it will shine.

And remember - setting a timetable and then being way behind is the best motivation! There is no better way of forcing yourself to hurry than being late!

Hey, do you have any new planned release date for Mardek 3, it still says February 2010. I'm trying not to be a jerk or anything, but your first release date was like back in 2008.

Jesus, it's fun to read Pseudo's posts. They're simple opinions and they barely argue with anything. He's saying stuff ''from his heart'' instead of from a wikipedia page. I'm just saying. It's impressive. Serioulsy.

No, he's probably going to finish Raider next. It would be nice if he finished Beast Signer after that, but I don't have my hopes up.

Also, what is the recent poll about, if I may ask? Can't say that it is very clear to me.

It's about abortions. Pro-life means that you think abortions should be illegal, pro-choice means that you think the would-be mother should decide, pro-death means that you think the fetus should always be aborted, and anti-choice means that you think the would-be mother should not be given a choice. Obviously, don't know means that you don't know what you think.
