Pseudolonewolf`s Avatar MARDEK Piano Collections Chapter 1 - Now on sale! Sun 7th Nov 2010 5:58pm

Category: Music

As I've mentioned before, I've been working for a while on piano adaptations of some of the music from MARDEK, chapter 1 specifically. I intend to do several of these albums, one for each chapter, using pieces that I think I can best adapt for piano.

I've finished the first one now and it's available at the Bandcamp shop; here's a link: [LINK]

There are eight tracks, and they are *adaptations* rather than verbatim copies of the original music. I tried to capture the 'essence' and melody of each track instead, and 'improved' them in some ways, I think.
I chose the tracks that I did because the others from chapter 1 were more awkward to adapt, so sorry if you wanted something like the Boss Battle music.

If you're a pianist, you can download the sheet music in PDF format by buying the album.
Though I've been composing for a while, most of the stuff I write isn't really playable, so it was a challenge making something that actually is. As a result, there may be some bits of the music that are finger-twistingly awkward to play, or even impossible. If so, I'd appreciate it if you could point them out to me so I can either fix them or at least learn for the future.
They're all about 'Intermediate' level, so if you've only just picked up a piano, you're unlikely to be able to play them very well... but you could at least give them a go, right?!?

Anyway, I spend a long time working on them, and I get 100% of whatever you pay for the music, so any purchases really do help me out quite a bit. As before, you can specify your own price, though there is a minimum value in place.

Thank you for all those of you who are interested enough to buy my music!
Oh, and feedback is appreciated! I'd like to know what you think! If you have any criticisms, I may be able to fix them.

I'll work on Chapter 2's Piano Collections soon, probably.

In other news, I've been working on my newest, secret game a lot lately, and making good, fast progress. I'm enthusiastic about it, and it's fun to work on, so I hope I can be done soon. It's a platformer, but I won't say much else about it until it's time to release it; I want it to be a surprise!

Suprise, eh? Well that will definatley increase anticipation for this "suprise" game. It's having its effect an me, anyways. I'm actually quite excited. As of the 'Piano Collection', well...I suppose I could talk to my parents...eh, it shoudn't be a problem. Good luck with your future work.

Can i just attempt to figure them out by ear and skip the buying the album part? I like making my own versions of songs i hear and i always liked the Mardek music even though i never played all the way through any of them, but Pseudo you have some skill in composition, I'll hand you that, very nice work

"I don't want to pay you, can't I just get around that?" is an interesting way to show appreciation for the time and effort put into creating something for peoples' enjoyment...

I'm sorry I didn't mean any disrepect, I just don't own a credit card which I'm assuming you would need to purchase the album, I was actually going to make my own piano versions of some of your songs. I sent emails asking about sheets or maybe if you could hint me as to what key you may of been playing in, but i didn't get a reply, and i completely understand, your busy, I'm not all butt hurt about it. But I think you will like what I make, I don't have much content out there on the web of any Piano stuff I've done besides my youtube account. But hey, I'll ask a friend if I can use their credit card and i'll pay them cash to buy the piano collections CD, having the sheets, or at least something to glance at for reference would be helpful, but when i do make my own renditions of some of your songs and IF you like them could you send me the sheets for the song you made in your first game? The flying one? That's the first one I wanted to learn and then change up a bit. Once again I'm sorry, you do deserve to get paid for your work, I havn't played any of your games extensivly, I've just enjoyed the music you made, I'm the same way with the Final Fantasy series, I've just always been about the music in most game.

Who is playing the music on the website? Is it you or someone that you hired/bribed/threatened? Also, I loved the music and am about to buy it!! Great job!

It's a MIDI exported to MP3. However, since Pseudo uses Sibelius, I assume that Sibelius adds some human touches such as dynamics and maybe some rhythm changes (as Finale does), making it sound somewhat more human.

I was just wondering why the "Dungeon 1" and the "Boss Battle" songs are not there? I have been playing piano for about seven years and I think I could play the Dungeon song. The Boss Battle song would be much more difficult, but it would still be fun to try to learn how to play it. These two are my favorites so far, but all the songs are very good. I am looking foward to Chapter 4. Excellent work with the music.

As I said in the news post (sort of), I chose the pieces I felt I could best 'adapt' into piano arrangements, since my goal wasn't to just copy them note-for-note from the originals. Those two tracks you mention proved awkward to adapt and I didn't have any success with them, which is why they're not included.

I thought the boss battle song was mostly piano anyway? Was surprised it wasn't included, not sure what part of the song stopped that but oh well. This might sound disrespectful to the song but since it's 90% piano if you just put that music in it'd probably be about right. I defer to your judgement, but it's a song I'm very interested in seeing (and playing) as well.

Yes Finally, I can make my brother who also loves this game to play them for me so I don't have to replay the game over and over again. Congratulations and you will probably make a few hundred dollars at least.

All I can say is that I am most sufficiently pleased. I do my best not to get over excited about things (to little avail), but I truly am very pleased with this piano adaptation to the first Mardek soundtrack. I look forward to the coming installments. The two songs from the second Mardek soundtrack in which I look forward to are "Royal Guard" and "Emela's Theme". The two I look forward to from the third soundtrack are "Sslen'ck" and "Secret Dungeon". Anyways, congratulations on this wonderful production. When I finally get my online financial account back up, I'll be getting this new installment to the Mardek Musical Masterplaylist. ^_^ Alright, I'll end my fun now.

Best wishes and much luck on your next endeavors!
