Category: Games I didn't make

My girlfriend - Rating Orb M β Firequill - is a skilled artist, and she's interested in the same sorts of things that I am, sort of, like coding and making games and such. Recently she's made her first proper, full Flash game, which is called 'Vulpin Adventure'.
She's worked on it for months and now it's finally complete.

You can play it here: [LINK]

I think it's visually superior to my own games, since she's vastly better at drawing and stuff than I am, but unlike my own games, it doesn't focus on a story, so, uh, keep that in mind.
It involves things like battles against monsters, with stats and skills and equipment and stuff like that. We're not really sure about what its *genre* might be!

I composed the music for it, and I'm sort of pleased with the results. I've released the music as an album through the Bandcamp shop thing for those tiny few of you who might be interested; you can listen to it or - gasp! - even *buy* it here: [LINK]

Well done to Rating Orb M β Firequill, Vulpin Adventure just hit the front page of latest games on Kongregate. I'm not surprised to be honest, but it's still an achievement and I commend her for that. It's a good game, full of humour, good graphics, gameplay and, of course, music. I rated it 5 on Kongregate and all that stuff. So well done to both of you. Or them, depending on who reads this.

Hats off, Firequill! :D
I really liked the game, for it's simplicity, art, music and cuteness! ^o^
I found the game quite relaxing, beautiful and cute. :-)
So, for a first game, it is quite good!
Congratulations, and continue the good work!

P.s.-I loved the graphics.....

The game was great, simple, and to the point, which is wonderful for a persons first game. I could REALLY see Pseudo's influence on the art style though, especially the dragons. :P

Perhaps Pseudo was influenced by Firequill, unless that is what you are stating...

Eh I don't know which one was drawing first, I've only seen Pseudo's artwork so far so it is my natural assumption that she was influenced by him...

It was a really good game, but it was kind of short and there wasn't really anything to do after beating the two headed dragon boss. Overall, though, the drawings were very good, and I am hoping for a sequel.

Great game but kinda sad cause they don't evolve and they walk so slow.

Try right clicking and turning quality down. I had the same problem at the beginning.

The bonus area has been fixed, and I really enjoyed it. The bonus boss was suitably difficult, yet hilarious. Which makes me unhappy that I am here yet again for a bug report.

In the Brightcloud area, all four types of brushbeasts spawn, which makes it ideal for grinding for earlier brushbeasts that I missed during regular gameplay. Unfortunately, there's also a pretty bad bug here. Occasionally, the cloud effect that accompanies monster spawning happens, but coming from behind the Joy meter. A battle starts, but the vulpin is unable to use any commands or even to change to the Item tab. Fortunately, you can still save, because reloading is the only way to get out of the battle. I have been able to reproduce the bug many times, but unable to find a cause; indeed, it seems to happen quite randomly. Walking direction doesn't matter either; the monster effect is equally likely when you're walking right (ie spawning behind you).
And, on a slightly less difficult to fix note, the Green Banapple only heals 40 HP instead of the 45 shown in the description.

 Defend action is useless, but isn't it always? Grinding for the last spell book, even after I'd maxed my stats, was slightly annoying. Other than that, great, mindless game.

The defend action can actually be useful for refilling your mana, considering that your spells are sometimes much more powerful than your regular attack. It can also be a lifesaver if you get in a situation where you need to heal and don't have two mana left.

Huh; that didn't occur to me. I never found myself needing to use anything but single mana spells, so it just didn't come up.

I really Liked that game. It was really fun and the music pseudolonewolf made with the game gave it an even better feeling.
I felt that game was different than most other games because you gain AP every time you beat a monster which allows you to customize your Vulpin without it feeling grindy (well it still feels grindy but at least I didn't have to keep waiting to level up) or boring. What got me going on and on about fighting monsters were to find those brush monsters (I couldn't find a brush monster in cloudy peaks though).
What I really want to see is what chobale said. You wouldn't have to work on your own games by yourself if you two did team up and I just love firequill's graphics. What concerns me though is that both your graphics are a bit different.

A nice relaxing game to play when you have some spare time. It has a bit of the humor we're used to from Psudo's games witch is mainly the reason I'm on this site at all. There's quite a bit of level grinding but it's well done and doesn't take long. Overall, quite a good game.
