Pseudolonewolf`s Avatar Weekly Update Mon 14th Dec 2009 12:10am

Category: Weekly Updates

This one's late because I completely forgot about it!

This week has been... unproductive. I've fallen behind schedule, annoyingly enough.
As I wrote in the Progress thing, I've got to a bit which is like a wall, which I need to do before doing other stuff, but it's so off-putting because of how difficult it is to do. It's something I've been putting off to do other things that need doing for ages, but I can't put it off anymore.
It would take less than a day, but I gave myself to do it since I knew I'd procrastinate so much, but even despite that I've not done it yet!
I've done a large portion of it, but not the, uh, hardest bit... which involves a whole lot of writing.

I'm going to start it, uh, in a few minutes if I can - I'll FORCE myself - but if I don't get started tonight, I'll just, uh, put it off and try to organise things so that I can find some other things to do... I don't NEED to do this before other things; that would just be the best thing to do.
So, uh, instead of pushing things forward a week, I'll do what my schedule says and if I have motivation to do this, I'll get back to it. Or I'll work on it after the Daily Tasks each day or something.

The February date I've announced is still feasible despite this, since I designed a schedule with a *January* release in mind; I just announced February because either it will be delayed, or I'll be surprising and release it earlier than announced. Hmm.

So, uh... yes. I'm still working on MARDEK 3, but some bits are just irritatingly off-putting. THIS is the LAST such part though, so once it's done, it should be smooth sailing to the end! Hurrah!

If all goes according to plan, I should be asking for beta testers in the weekly update after the next one... But that's unlikely, isn't it? o_O
So no promises there.

Although this has NOTHING to do with what you said on Monday...
I'm finally out of school for Winter Break.
Now I can visit without the constant worry of leaving early.

This is one post late but i really think that paying for in-game content is a bad idea. It might be ok if it were used to get things you could already get, but i think that, as the consumer, paying for an online game is horrible.

You wouldn't be paying for the game, you'd be paying for added content, like downloadable content that seems to be all the rage on consoles. Only in this case, you would be given MARDEK 3 and have to pay for a bonus mission or additional items that would enhance the gameplay. If it were something you could obtain on your own, like the keyblade from MARDEK 2 or something, then it would defeat the purpose of making money off of it and people who bought it with real money would obviously not be happy once they found that it could be earned in-game ANYWAY. You wouldn't be paying for the game; if you liked the game, then you'd be paying for the chance to play longer or with improved characters.

imjust saying that the added content that is payed for is usually a necessity- which i cant afford. It would be ok if the added content was just stuff like a better weapon but things like entirely new levels is just not worth it.

I really hope you can finish by February as I am leaving for Uganda for two years in March and have been very much looking forward to Mardek 3. If it's not finished I'll just have to wait until I return to sing it praises, so take your time with it everyone will be just as excited regardless of when its released.

As a side note, what ever happened to the "Yalortian" game, I think it was called Deliverance. I don't think as many people played it, but the storyline was just as good , if not better than Mardek, but whatever.

Hey, I saw a comment in the post you made Sun 6th Dec 2009, about implementation of "Mochi Coins", well, Just today I played a game called Arcuz: Behind the Dark, once I started playing I realized that the game uses that "Mochi Coins" System.. so I wanted to see how do you buy them. When I saw the "Paypal Trademark Thing" I just knew I would never get my hands on some of those coins. I didn't wanted to play no more, but then I found something like a tutorial to "hack" the game (Don't look for them kids, that's really bad and it takes all the fun to games) but it works so, maybe the implementation of systems like Mochi Coins have is disadvantages... Encourages the player to found another way to get more power that the one he should have. (Unless Mardek 3 cannot be hacked) Anyways, I would like to be able to buy any kind of "Coins" in the game without the need of a credit card, like an SMS system or something... That would be nice.

P.D: Im not like a hacker or a cheater or anything, I just try that for scientific purposes, LOL

After looking at the progress bar, it's at least good to see that you are relaxing instead of working yourself like a slave for the benefit of all the fans (like me...). I haven't gotten around to playing it, but I hear Live a Live is a great strategy/RPG. Hope it inspires you!

P.S: Do you play via emulator, or are you actually playing it on the SNES?

Since it was only released in Japanese in Japan, I couldn't play it NOT on an emulator... So, uh, yes, I was playing a ROM.
I don't have an actual SNES anymore anyway, unfortunately...

It was a great game and I'd recommend it, and it did inspire me; just not much for MARDEK 3. Hmm.

Good to see (From the Progress bar thingie) that you've done some work on the hard stuff. Good luck with it.

And I'm loving the snow, BTW.....despite the fact it's Summer here in New Zealand. It's great! :D
