Pseudolonewolf`s Avatar GLEESOME SHROVE TUESDAY!!! Fri 25th Dec 2009 12:08pm

Category: General Bitterness

Well, it's Christmas. Isn't that lovely? I hope you've all got tons of expensive presents, because I've got nothing! I hope you all spend your days having various kinds of fun, because today is like any other day for me, other than some awkward *family meal* which I strongly dread (they're a rarity and I hate them; it's basically a once-a-year thing, yet that's still too often for my liking).
So, uh, I'm feeling anxious right now, it seems.

I remember when I used to be *excited* about Christmas, years ago... But that was when I was still a child, and I just got toys from my parents, and that was it; I didn't GIVE anyone anything and I don't even strongly recall any family meals either... Toys are important parts of childrens' lives - or were moreso before games consoles and stuff - so getting more of them was something I looked forward to for months.
But now I dread getting anything at all, since now that I'm older, it seems that I feel I should GIVE stuff too, but I'd much rather give nothing and receive nothing than endure the awkwardness of giving someone a present that they wouldn't even like just because it SHOULD be done... I hate that. Giving people hastily-chosen cheap gifts just because you SHOULD, without even knowing enough about what they WANT, so loads of rubbish is bought and likely just stuck in a cupboard or taken back to the shop after it's been received... There's also a lot of stress from pretending you like gifts that you really don't, it seems. Holding in frustrated emotions. I don't want to endure that or inflict it on people! o_O

Anyway, for the last handful of years, I've been writing things much like this at Christmas, and I wonder if they're quite depressing or something?!

Hopefully you people will have a 'good Christmas' though... Hmm.

I'll just be working on MARDEK 3 all day, alone, probably! Since I'm, uh, making progress. And stuff.

(I wonder how many people just spend most of Christmas Day on their computers? It seems a very strange thought to me, yet it's what I've done for the last few years...)

It is estimated that 10 percent of Jewish households have a Christmas tree in their homes for the holidays. Happy belated Christmas, and whatnot.

I got lots of money. I've been saving up since I was eight and now I have enough to buy a good computer.

Also, it was mostly going to grandparents' house + family meal that wasn't bad. Why should it be?

Haha sounds a lot like mine :/.. I haven't gotten presents since I was 10. Every year my parents and my little niece get everything now year after year the christmas tree gets less and less decorative, less presents for my parents more for the spoiled little child that yells at my mom all the time.. Now this year the tree was just leaning against the wall with nothing on it, i had to cook everythign for everyone do the dishes.. Just like a normal day for me.. Yours sounded funner lol

Don't worry Pseudolonewolf (is it bad to copy and paste to make sure I don't typo your name?), I got about just as much as you, except that I seem to have gotten an additional turn in doing dishes. Yay gifts.

I spent 60% of my day on the Xbox exept for going to the usual christams dinner where I gave/got cards to/from people. but the 60% was spent playing fabel 2, maxing out all abilitys (IT TOOK ME FOREVER) I had to get around 10mil exp all around, so im FINALY DONE with the game, beat 3 times each with max skillz :) now im going to go hunting for a copy of left for dead 2, wish me luck!

Woe and alas! Poor Pseudwoelonewolf doesn't know the true meaning of christmas spirit! Indeed, we'll have to teach him, film his revelation and sell it to gullible children!
