MARDEK RPG: Chapter 1Other Games

Screenshots

This is the new version of chapter 1, using the engine made for chapter 3.
Play as a hero named Mardek as he saves a princess from a dragon! Or is there more to it than that...? (Hint: Yes, there is.)

This was definitely an awesome start to an awesome series. I love the unique storyline that some other game doesn't seem to give.

One of the best flash rpgs I've ever played. It had a nice sense of humor that I generally don't see in most games. The combat system was also unique.

It's a slightly older slang use of 'creamed', so it's technically okay, just a little strange now that it has its more...er...suggestive meaning. It basically meant 'socked upside the head' or some such.

I played this chapter a long while back but I still remember it quite well. As far as an introduction it was a great start to the saga. The play style was smooth and not boring. The game makes me nostalgic of the old NES RPG games. Very fine work

This game is really, really awsome, and I have a tip for the peoples who are playing Mardek for the first time: 'Try to get at least level 3, because when you save your game and you are playing the next part (Mardek 2) you will start with a higher level.

Rapid Review: A short but sweet game with a nice introduction to the story.

-=-

Main Review: Mardek: Chapter I provides a simple yet attention-grabbing introduction to the story. The game starts off with the two protagonists on their imaginary adventure, given the appropriate items, abilities, and reactions to make them great heroes (and completely broken, but hey, it's their imagination). After that you are introduced to the real Mardek and Deugan: two young boys who want to become heroes like their idol Social Fox. The next day, they go on an adventure that will change their lives forever, experiencing extravagant events that are engaged in the following chapters. The hook at the end of this chapter will immediately make you want to start playing the next one.

Overall, this chapter is short with about under an hour of game-play if you are not grinding (estimated time includes sub-quest and obtaining every treasure). In fact, it is unnecessary to level-grind in this chapter since default stats, abilities, and equipment are changed in the next chapter (even with a save file). If you want to keep all of your items, put them in item storage or give them to Mardek. That Cog Necklace and Copper Ring comes in handy from the start of Chapter II.

In conclusion, this is a short chapter that provides a nice introduction to the story and gives you more than enough items to be carried over for the next chapter. I rate this game an 8.5 out of 10.

Nobody minded, you just got 4 zeroes. You should've realized that people get bad orbs by noting errors in your comments, in fact, sometimes, they are hardly noticeable. Like just now. It is only noticeable to those who carefully read the whole thing and care about grammar at the same time. Plus, uh, you misspelled "forgot." I pointed that out for you so you didn't get more low ratings. But, I'm not going to save you every time. So just be careful.
