MARDEK RPG: Chapter 3Other Games

Screenshots

The third chapter in the story of MARDEK. Mardek is now a Royal Knight, who's sent on various missions for the King. Of course, things aren't that simple... And Rohoph's still alive; the Governance de Magi can't be havin' with that.

Chapter 3 includes oodles more party members, and less linear gameplay. Exciting.
It took forever to make - three years! - because I recoded the engine from scratch, which took a while and many failed attempts, and removed a lot of enthusiasm that I had for the game.

This chapter contains 40+ hours of gameplay, and includes remade versions of the first two chapters.

Here are some tactics quouted from the WIKIA:
Annihilator:Karnos-
-Zach's Coup de Grace can be used to great effect if Karnos has cast Rainbow Guard on himself. Because it's a physical attack, it won't cause any elemental shifts, and so if you can get Karnos to stick with an element that you have a Null spell for, you can use the rest of the party to maintain health/shield levels while Zach wails away.
-Another useful tactic is to have Mardek consume three or four Power Drinks, which will increase his STR exponentially. Then, when Karnos switches to one of the Natural Elements, use one of Mardek's corresponding Elemental Slashes to deal extra damage; you should do around 5000 damage each time.
-Alternately, equip Mardek with the Cursed Beret, Cursed Blade, Yellow Fairy and Scarab of Health, and use other party members (if necessary) to shift Karnos to Light. Then, Mardek will heal himself to full with every strike, and will be healed by Dark Claw and Blood Claw. The other party members are now irrelevant. You can bring them back in the end for the experience... but they're otherwise useless. Also, it seems that Karnos will preferentially target Mardek with Shatterclaw, taking some of the heat away from the other members... not that you should care about them anyway. Make sure that Mardek's AGL is enough so he will take every second turn.
-A rather simple way of buying you enough time to figure out whatever you want to do is to bring along Mardek and Gloria and have the former cast his Morality Block on all, and the latter casting her Null Air/Earth/Fire/Water Once on all as the situation dictates. This will block all damage except for Aether and Fig, which alone shouldn't provide too much difficulty to survive.
-Putting the Yellow Fairy on Mardek is a great way to double the damage he deals or let him put up twice as many buffs (although be sure to always have Null Air on the entire party to protect against Delay Buster). The Blue Fairy and the Purple Fairy will give equipped characters a Shield or M Shield respectively that cannot be removed with Shatterclaw.
-Another strategy, although somewhat time-consuming, is to craft several Magic Drinks at Gloria's Cauldron. At the start of the battle, have Mardek cast Morality Block (or have Light resistance on all characters) to protect against Galaxy Burst. Elwyen should be playing Runic Rhapsody throughout the battle, while the other characters use Magic Drinks to boost her SPR to max. After this, all of Karnos' magic attacks should do negligible damage.

I hope that will help you!

So, qwama, not only are you using very improper spelling/grammar, but on the sign-up page it says that it would be preferred if you don't join until you are 13 or older, and if you do join under that age not to post on the forums. You broke two rules and ignored a polite request, that's not cool.

The Seventh Artefact can be found in Cambria, somewhere in a bookshelf. Luckily, there are no petty peasants that will stop you from reading their bookshelf, or a sick pick-up line like that. Hallelujah.
I think it was also possible to get this Artefact listed in Chapter 2, but I'm not sure... Seeing as how Cambria was in that game, though, I'd think that it was possible in that Chapter. Hmm.

Ah yes, as I figured, there was a section on this on the Fig Hunter Wiki. The page in question is this particular one.
Some things can be explained better with the wiki, so if you have some problems, you could always go there and search what you're looking for.

Anyone know how to beat Annihilator:Animus? Any strategies I can use?

Hmm... Animus. To be honest, that was a very tricky one. Luckily, he isn't invincible. I find that the best way to do this is to start out with the right party. I found that Mardek, Solaar, Gloria or Verhn and Elwyen makes the best party.(I preferred Vehrn due to his massive power, but Gloria is also useful.)

This battle will be fought based on defense, based around the effectiveness on a large scale of Animus's attacks. My favoured strategy is to have Elwyen start off immediately with Runic Rhapsody, weakening Animus's attacks. As of this point, the fastest and safest way to get her SPR up is to give her a large number of those blue potion thingies that Gloria makes in her cauldron.(The name escapes me.) Make some of those and give them to Elwyen. Use Solaars Spirit Graft to help as well. If you get her SPR up all the way, Animus can no longer do anything. Animus becomes useless. At this point you can pick him apart as you please. I find it's best to enhance Vehrn's attack with Solaars Spirit Graft. Use Mardek to cancel the anti-light buff that Animus has(Use a light sword and/or soul strike.) and then use Vehrn to deliver a massive light attack.(A few thousand damage, if you do it right.) If you get all the SPR right, then you can use Solaar to cancel the anti-light buff and use Mardek and Vehrn to destroy Animus.

Now, another way is to use Gloria to weaken Animus faster by using the water spell, which lowers SPR. Alas, to do this you need to cancel the nulls first. This requires a water attack so... either Elwyen has to stop defending you for a bit or Mardek has to use up MP to use a powerful attack and let it go to waste. Solaar's purpose in this would solely be to help Elwyen and Gloria then. Gloria's attack does a lot of damage, but not as much as Vehrn's.

I personally went with that first method(Without the potions.) and I was easily able to destroy Animus in no time without any of my characters dying.(NOTE: The more skills the merrier.)

Hopefully that will help you out.(NOTE: Get Elwyen a lot of high SPR equipment to start out. She really needs SPR.)

Thanks for the advice, but I've got only two questions.

Will Meraeador be a good choice because I thought that if I made loads of Rainbow juice and give them to Meraeador to use in conjunction with his Potion Spray so that I could be invincible so long as Meraeador kept spraying the Rainbow Juice, and that sentence sounded really inappropriate.
Ok, question 2, will Legion be another good choice since he (or it)can learn Gemsplosion and can use a Candriathope to inflict Fig damage to Animus since Fig is its weakness?

But thanks for the strategies. I'll try them out. Reply about what you think of my ideas.

I have yet to beat the fire guardian.I mean,I can beat the actual guardian, but then you have to battle the saviors! They always kill me!

I once hat that same problem. I think the easiest way is to buy a few ethers, then after you defeat the Fire guardian, use Mardek's heal spell to completely heal the party, and then use the ethers to rejuvenate all of the lost mana (on all characters). When fighting the worlds saviors, focus on first killing Alia (I believe that's her name), because she buffs and heals the party, then Bernard, then Vennie and Bartholio. Focus three of your characters on attacking and the fourth one on defense.

The saviors are fairly difficult, but I think I can give you some help in regards to beating them:

1) Kill Aaila first. She is annoying because she heals the party and gives them regen, sheilds, magic shields, and other annoying status effects. Try putting her to sleep with Mereador's sleep machine or if you don't have that try taking her out with Solaar or Vehrn. Surprisingly, she's weak against the light element along with being weak against the dark element. Noxious bombs also help, because of their poison and confusion effects. If you don't kill Aaila, you'll find it next to impossible to kill any of the other members in the savior's party.
Another strategy for beating Aaila is quite simple: just keep pounding her until she goes down. Bring Zach along with you and use noxious bombs on Aaila. Then follow up with coup de grace attacks over and over. She'll go down pretty quickly if you do that. Also, if Legion knows a move that turns enemies berserk (I forgot what it's called) use that, because Aaila then won't be able to do magic, and without her magic, Aaila is nothing.
2) Bring along a lot of potions and ethers. Also make sure to bring a couple of speedy juices too. Those are a great help, especially if given to a partner who does heavy damage (like Sslen'ck, Vehrn, and Legion) or a partner who is good at healing (like Solaar, Sharla, and Mardek). Angry juices are okay too (you can throw them at Aaila), but they are only made from Gloria's shaman cauldron in Canonia, otherwise they are hard to come by. Another useful item is the mirilixir (or something like that) which puts a shield and magic shield on one member in the party. If you want to apply the effect on all members quicker, just give Mereador a potion spray invention and give the mirilixer to him, which he can then spray on the entire party.
3) Make Mardek use Regen or make him put up a couple of shields and magic shields on the party. This will lessen the damage your party takes and also keep them at high health. If you don't have Solaar or Gloria with you, remember you can heal the entire party by going to the heal, hitting 'x' on the icon, and before using on a single member hit right and you can heal the entire party.
4) After killing Aaila go for Bernard. He does probably the most damage out of all the party. DON'T ATTACK HIM WITH REGULAR PHYSICAL ATTACKS. He has this move called 'Heh' which pretty much kills whoever attacked him in one hit. He is dark elemental, thus vulnerable to light, so it's a good idea to bring Solaar along with you so you can deal massive damage to him without worrying about his 'heh' attack. Bernard has ice and fire attacks, and it's probably a good idea to get some resistances to that if he keeps killing off your party members with the move. Again, putting him to sleep, poisoning, or confusing him is a good idea. Bernard shouldn't be much of a problem with these strategies.
5) It's a good idea to heal the party before the battle with Mardek, Sharla, Solaar, or whoever you have with you. Don't forget ethers either, those are always important. And, like always, bring along some phoenix downs.
6) Once Aaila and Bernard are down, the battle should be pretty easy, but I can help you out if you're dying at this point too. Kill Bartholio next, because if Bartholio is the last standing party member, he will go all beserk on you and deal massive damage. He doesn't hit very often though, because he uses his power attack half the time to deal massive damage. He will be much easier if the entire party has shields on. Don't forget that Bartholio has a potion that heals him when his health gets low, so beat him quickly unless you want the battle to be longer and more annoying. Poison is useful, but probably more useful is the blindness status effect, because his chance of hitting you becomes even less with that status effect.
7) Last, take out Vinnie. He uses annoying status effect attacks, so bring along some remedies so you can cancel out the status effects. That's really all you need. Don't forget Vinnie is fast, so he pretty much always attacks first. Make sure those speedy juices are put to use here (unless already used).
8) My suggested party? Mardek (as always), Mereador, Solaar, and anyone else. I suggest Legion because of all the status effects he can put on the saviors party. Don't bring along Sharla, because most of the members of the saviors are resistant to lightning attacks or are lightning type. Also I suggest not bringing along Elwyn or Zach, because unless they have a bunch of stoles equipped or something, they'll probably die fast, but you can bring them if you want. It doesn't really matter.
9) If all else fails, you could always level grind.

Hope this helps. Good luck!

Also, you can use a potion brewed by gloria to ZOMBIFY them!
Make vehrn sick on bernard with smite evil.
Use the zombie potion thing (I forgot the name) on bartholio)
Noxious bomb on vennie
Berserker chord on aalia
Keep healing and using potions
And you will easily win.
(I used this and won on the first try)

You may have messed up a bit, since the saviors have 100% protection to zombification, the bashing-a-bottle-of-Z-virus-on-the-head won't work! ;)

There is one thing I do not understand in this game. If Rohoph is planning to return to Anshar does that mean he is returning along with Mardek's body?

That's what we are supposed to think, the reason being Rohoph can only leave Mardek's body when Mardek is killed, and even then he would have to find another light person to bond with, so he would never have his own body. Of course, if he expels the person's spirit from their body then it would just be him inside it, but I doubt he would do that just yet.

I guess it's time I comment on this one now, huh? Well, this is the game that got me to this site. I really liked Mardek 2 and wanted to see if the third one was out, so I looked on google and it came up on this site. I tried it out, liked it even more than Mardek 2, so I quickly joined this site and all that jazz. I still haven't beaten the game yet, but I'm just going to keep trying until I do. So, unlike most people on this site, I'm not 'eagerly' awaiting the 4th one yet, because I have yet to beat the final boss. He's just so hard, so I'm training in the miasmal citadel for now.
This is really the only turn-based rpg on the internet I could find, but I doubt there would be anything better than this. The humor is good, the storyline smooth and streamlined to near-perfection, and the characters indispensable. I couldn't wish for anything more in a game; those are the things that turn me on in a game.
So yes, I'm quite proud of Pseudolonewolf for all the hard work he has put into this. Great job.

Hmm...
So you're saying you can't beat the final boss, so you train in the Miasmal Citadel.
Well, when I first read that, it sounded... odd.
And streamed to near-perfection?
What did you not like?
Oh yeah, and you're not the only one who has the time for the next Mardek.
I refuse to beat the game until after Animus, and I can't seem to be beating this guy.
So, um, what did you not like about the story?

Yes, I guess you're right. There are a few things I didn't like about the story. The whole thing about all the Governance de Magi dying in order to one guy seemed kind of unlikely, and the fact that Rophoph is still 'alive' in Mardek's body I found kind of strange. I guess his spirit is in there, but how does he still have his magic powers even though only his spirit is inhibiting Mardek's body? It doesn't really have much of an explanation there. I also found Elwyen to be to annoying to play as. So yeah, I guess my post did sound a little odd and one-dimensional huh? I guess I need to think about my dislikes more than my likes sometimes. Oh well.
That's just me I guess. I don't look at the negatives in anything. I just tend to skip over them.
