I am unable to say for sure whether I would willingly be drafted or not. It would depend on the excuse for the war, and if it truly seemed necessary or not.

One of my ancestors left Germany during Bizmarck's rule because, he didn't believe in what Germany was fighting for. After coming to America he fought in the Civil War on the Union side.

My grandfather fought in World War II as a bombadier, though that war may have been necessary my grandfather regrets the lives he took, but at the time he believed whole heartedly that he was doing the right thing. Much of my family has also protested the Vietnam war and both of the Gulf Wars.

I personally am not much for Nationalism, I won't go to war out of pride for my country, or necessarily even because my government tells me too. Like many of the people I am descended from I believe war is wrong though, I will fight for a cause if I believe that it is just or necessary.

Yes, I've written a lot of comments which I haven't posted, some of which I've even spent a few hours on... and then deleted...

Sometimes it's probably for the better when I delete them, other times I'm not so sure...

I've often deleted them because, I've spent too much time rewriting the same message over and over in different ways, and it still doesn't feel right.

Eventually I usually come to terms with the fact that I could spend the rest of my life trying to make my message just right and that it never would seem right to me. I realize that whatever I'm trying to say usually isn't really that important, that hardly anyone will likely see what I write, and that my repetitive attempts to make myself understood eventually backfire and make whatever I'm trying to say lost in a jumbled bunch of words...

I've actually rewritten this message about fifteen times in different ways and, it still looks horrible to me. This is just one of those times where I've put to much into it and wanted to comment on the topic enough that I just have to do it, regardless...

It's not easy, but I respect you for speaking truthfully and dismissing ideas rather than leading people on.

When it comes to subconsciously doing the poll to verify your decision, I can understand how some might feel a little mislead, but it wasn't on purpose, and I don't think anyone will begrudge you for it. Plus I think that everyone does something like that at some point.

Francis Marmalade sounds like he is at that state where the character has become his own person, so I completely understand and respect your decision to not compromise him.

I look forward to whatever you decide.

I do remember you saying that about the 'option C' in the past, and I'm sorry for doing that. Also I want to clarify that when I said that bit about the story having potential, I didn't mean that it wasn't fully formed. I just meant that only knowing a tiny piece of the plot I looked forward to experiencing the rest of it.

Is it possible to have a compromise between the two options?

Maybe have it so you can choose what gender Francis Marmalade is? And make an excuse to have a quick battle to start off? Just before several minutes of plot dialogue, so as to give people that are new to your games a little taste of gameplay just before they get into the plot.

Personally I'd vote for the player's ability to choose their gender be implemented, though the majority of the time I play male characters (when able), I have always liked it when people who wanted to were given the option to play as a female.

On the subject of whether to have the character be some young'n or the older Francis Marmalade, as others have said you would likely get a larger audience with the younger characters. But I think it would be a mistake not to go with Francis Marmalade. This new perspective is something unique and quirky, and in the end it will attract those who are truly able to appreciate your innovative and unique games, also it's possible that you might actually get more attention for trying something new.

My reasons for staying with Francis Marmalade are that though I am a fan of the silent character who you project a personality upon (when it's done right), seeing screenshots and reading tidbits about the plot as your game has progressed I have gotten to look forward to uncovering Marmalade's backstory, and see a lot of potential in what was his long life.

I don't know if "like" is exactly the right word but, for lack of the right one: I... like horror of the psychological variety. Especially over the slasher movies which is the kind that jumps to mind when I hear "gory horror" film. Give me something subtle, disturbing and mysterious and I'll go to it like a moth to flame but, show me a movie where there is nothing but, people being tortured or a big guy running around hacking people to bits and I'm bound to be uninterested.

On another note I have to disagree with what some people have said about porn having no plot and gory horror films having plot. I don't think that either tend to have much in the way of plot but, then I don't think that's really why people watch either of the two in the first place.

Since I was little I've been told that my natural "a" looks like a fish, though at this point I usually imitate more common a's and tend to do this kind of "ɑ."

Nope. I can often feel another persons' emotions if I'm in their presence, almost as though it were wind or something, though it's still not that rare for me to misread people... I also sometimes pick up random signals, usually from televisions and occasionally house alarm systems... but that's probably the closest I get to being psychic...

Now that I'm living with my nephew I'm pretty used to a person about a third my age and height talking to me as though he is at least equal if not superior. This isn't always the case but, I'd say that it likely is the majority of the time. I find it rather irritating much of the time though, sometimes it can be amusing, and now and then it can even be edifying. Because children's minds are in a different stage of development, they perceive things different than grown ups, and I think that they sometimes pick up on things that we miss. Equal or no I think that they can still sometimes teach us things if we're paying attention.

Another thing I want to say is that on this site I keep reading criticism towards children for acting older then they are but, I just wanna say that in many cases I don't think that it's really the child's fault. Like the rest of humanity, there are always going to be children that are naturally arrogant and boastful, but in my case for example: growing up I was always expected to be older and more mature then I actually was. Often encouraged to talk about politics, philosophy and to debate. I usually found grown ups were easier to talk to then my peers, many of them would listen to me respectfully whether I had much to add to the conversation or not, and some of them were interested in what I had to say. Also my step father did his best but, he never wanted to have a kid or, be a father, and so the older I got and more mature I acted the more comfortable he was with my presence.

What I'm trying to say is that if a kid is raised to act older than they are, and discouraged from acting younger, they're likely to act older. And I'm curious, are they really the ones to blame for this?

Well, as someone else said, if possible getting a lawyer would be good. As far as letting the people who stole your work use it, I'd think that it would be a mistake to let them continue without first coming to an arrangement with you.

Before this I was actually doing a little research into copyright law for something that I'm working on, and I have a great article that clears up a lot of myths about copyright, though so far I'm unsure as to whether the rules within it apply to the UK or not...

If you want that article on the off chance it's helpful just let me know. I'm sorry that I'm not that helpful, I might try and talk to some people I know who study law to see if they can help as well. Anyway, I wish you the best of luck and I'll try to help anyway I can.
