Yes, once.
I became friend of a guy online through a browser online game, about a year later i went on vacation to Ireland (where he lives), on the first day there i went online for a bit and told him i was there, so we decided to meet in a local pub.

I didn't consider it offensive... just a bit annoying Xp
I usually write in near perfect English in half the sites I visit (this one included), I simply forgot to change the way i write that time.
Oh! And I never managed to get used to pressing shift with the "I" button in mid sentence.

Ps: I actually write in English better than in Portuguese.

I've always hated PE... not cause i dont like execising, cause i do, but havin someone (the PE teacher) tell me to run over there and then here, go up those stairs (oh! how i hate stairs!!!), play that sport... really hate that :p
This past year our PE teacher made us spend about 1/4 of our classes in our school gym, lifting weights and such, the sports we'd play were always basketball, football(soccer) and volleyball(hate it), sports made up about half our classes, the rest of the classes were fitness(where we'd usually cheat by takin a break in the shadow and drinkin water from the nearby fountain when our teacher was out of sight XD).

Though i never actually handed the teacher a note for being "sick", most i do is just not go without excuse, if i did that i'd feel like i was lying.

My native language is portuguese since i was born and raised in Portugal, though my english, both in writing and speaking, is far better than my portuguese now. I started learning english at the age of 5 through tv, learned to speak fluently around the age of 7 i think.
And for some reason i've developed an Irish accent recently... probably for having spent some time in Ireland on vacation :p

Well, i'm like the rebel poor kid in my "rich kids" public high school, even though i'm not exactly poor, just not rich either, so i usually dont like hanging out with the crowd, i'm also a loner by nature, so most of my class mates dont really know me that well and consider me a rebel.
That kinda makes me stand out from the crowd a bit, even though i'd rather be invisible, so i chose "somewhat"

My answer is "I dont think so"
First off, i'm not completely sure what the definition of intellectual is here, my grades are mostly average with the exception of English (foreign language), math and Physical Education (not sure how you call it), which are usually in the top of my class. I only read british adventure books, or ocasionally a book about certain past events (like about WWII, Roman Empire and stuff like that), i only read informative books when i simply HAVE to for school. I do search the internet to learn about certain topics though, like most religious beliefs for example, anything i might be interested in learning more of, i do it through the internet, or ocasionally by discussing it with someone that knows alot about the subject.
Most people that get to know me better tend to say that i'm actually quite intelligent, mostly because i try to learn as much as i can about pretty much anything, and then those people end up learning about alot of things, or even just end up understanding these things better, when talking to me.
Despite that, i never really considered myself as intellectual, most probably because i'm not really interested in being marked as such, whether i am intellectual or not.

heh... funny, i actually talked about this with a friend a couple days ago...
My answer is no.
Honestly i dont really see a reason why certain words are forbiden or even just considered rude, they're words, they were created to be used. I dont see a reason why "poo" is any better than "s**t", they both mean EXACTLY the same thing, this goes for alot of other words as well.
I also think that it's the fact they're forbiden that makes so many people use them so much, honestly, whoever first decided that these words were bad, rude or impolite must have been a really pretentious... guy...

I use such words on a regular basis without care whether they're impolite or not, though i do tend to use them much less in the presence of kids who've yet to learn them, mostly because i know their parents would probably chew my head off if they learned those words from me... even though they will learn those words eventually.

Also Pseudolonewolf, you say it's not rational to be the way you are about this, but i say otherwise, either your parents or society itself influenced you to dislike those words, society affects us all, and since society(in general) doesnt like those words, it's perfectly rational for you not to like them either.

Lastly, the only reason these words might be offensive is because some people use them to offend others, any common word would have the same effect, and would be "banned" if it turned into a trend, like Fey said "the power in the words come only from the intention of the speaker, and not from the words themselves", i couldn't have said it any better.
Poll: Have you ever been bullied?

I have been bullied a couple times in my life and i have bullied quite a few afterwards. When i was 9-11 years old there were two guys(not at the same time) who would bully me, the second time was actually beneficial to me since i started to stand up for myself, and gained the respect of a few gypsies in my school, who started to protect me and taught me how to defend myself.
A few years later, and even now once in a while, i tend to bully other bullies, giving them the "eye for an eye" treatment that i always defended. Basicaly i bully others in order to defend the weak, tough it's still bullying.
I trully believe that being bullied made me stronger in some ways, it made me tougher, tough it also made me a bit cold-hearted sometimes.
