Even having read this I still prefer the idea of playing as Francis. Why would playing as an old man put girls off from playing it? Would you be put off if you had to play as an old woman? (I know it could be considered a bit different, but it is the equivalent for you after all)

As well as that, the thing which made this game's plot different from Pokémon was that you didn't play as a generic, silent protagonist. It will end up just feeling a lot more like a Pokémon clone without the twist on the "helpful professor"-type character. As well as that, the whole "unique synthetic monster" thing makes a lot more sense if you made it yourself, rather than being given it by a professor-guy at the start (who isn't even the professor that made it? Unless I understood this wrong)

You also say that this idea is better because it's newer. But remember that in a month or so when you're partway through developing this, it will have become an older idea. Would you change it then to a brand new one? (Again, I know it's a bit different when you're at this stage, but the principle remains the same - stick with your ideas)

So yeah I prefer the older idea, but of course do whatever. I think I'd find it a lot more entertaining (and a lot less of a Pokémon-clone) with the first, but will probably still play it even if you go through with the newer idea.

I find it hard to believe that so many people are saying "no because it RUINS LIVES!!" I'm not saying that this is false at all: many lives are in fact ruined by alcohol, and of course it can kill, or make you seriously ill - three of my friends have been put into hospital after passing out because of drinking so much, and two of those had to have their stomach pumped.

However, this didn't have lasting effects on any of my friends, although two of them recently decided to become alcohol-free (this wasn't triggered by the incidents, this was much more recent. I'm not sure whether they're going to remain so or not). I've not seen any lasting effects in anybody I know that drinks, and that's most adults I know and a lot of people the same age as me. Including me -I don't drink that often, although most of the time when I do I get drunk. I don't see it as a bad thing though, it's just fun, and as far as I know nobody's got hurt from me drinking. So I chose option 2, because I don't really drink that regularly.

Please do Raider. I'd probably buy it, the two Raider episodes you did I really liked, and so did lots of other people. No matter what you say about its "failure", the episode 1 still has seven thousand plays on this site alone, and that's only since you updated the site (I think before it had thirty thousand odd, but I can't be sure). And just from looking at the top comment on the page I know at least one other person likes it. So please do Raider.

Also, Alora Fane sounds good, and that sounds like an alright price to buy things for... And I don't have much to say about Clarence's Big Chance other than I am loving it (not finished yet) and wouldn't mind another game like that. Though, as I said, I'm only at work at the moment.

I'll volunteer to beta test, then. It's a platformer, it should be fun enough to play multiple times, and I'd want to play it before it's released anyway, maybe.

Maybe the left bar could be a "Quick Links" thing with icons for each of your games on but no text? Other than that, I can't think of what to put in there, really, other than Oni's jukebox idea I read which I would really like to see.

The new site is better. It's faster, and doesn't look too different from before except that it looks a lot more... compact, if you want. Which I think is better.
Game: MARDEK RPG: Chapter 3

I get the first comment on here?! Maybe.

I've only got through part of MARDEK chapter 3 because of playing the first two chapters from scratch in the new versions and being somewhat busy. And having a small attention span.

But, it's good, up until now. I thought the new reaction system might not be as good, but I don't know why I ever doubted Pseudo as all of his decisions have been good. (Except to make Raider easier. It will have to be a very good game if it isn't as hard... But I hope I will be pleased.)

Apparently I am doing some things the not-as-easy way, but it's still really, really, really good. And I LOVE how you can talk to the characters at... most times. Unfortunately by reading the TVTropes article on MARDEK, I've had a part of it spoilt... but only a small part, so it's alright.

*goes off to continue playing*

This is lovely. The feathers look real. The swishiness at the bottom looks amazing, the stars gorgeous, and the deity incredible.

How much do you actually pay for your internet anyway? Is it much, or is it quite cheap? (I think mine is... 20-ish, but obviously I don't pay it)

Also, why don't you buy a really, really good internet connection, like business-standard, good enough to host this site, and then, erm, host the site on your own computer? That would also solve the problem of having the chat down occasionally because there are too many people on it and your internet-site-person-server cuts your site off? (Then again, you might get it cut off by your personal internet then, but if you bought a good enough one, then all the problems would be in your own hands, not anybody else's, maybe? Plus you wouldn't be slowed down by your own use of this site because it'll already be on your computer?)
