You mean the enemies or your party? Because I beat it rather easily with 20-30 level characters -- perhaps too easily, and that was my downfall in the fire temple -- by the way, grind a lot before you get to the fire temple, if you have one equip a Candriathope on your weakest party members and equip the EXP multiplier skill, it makes grinding go just a little bit faster! I unfortunately underestimated my opponents and got myself stuck in a rut where I had to create a hacked character with 999 stats to win, it was either that or a helluva lot of grinding (we're talking hours upon hours of nothing but grinding). So at the moment, I'm taking my sweet time before I move on to the Earth temple.

It bugs me slightly too, but in this day and age, most things are pretty predictable if you think about it for a moment. I was pretty certain Deugan would be alive too because his involvement with the plot seemed to end without proper resolution. Emela being the water guardian is also extremely predictable based on the dialogue and that the game mentions her "blue eyes [...] almost glowing" and her water element, and that she insists that we don't enter the temple under lake Qur AND that she can cast a rare spell such as breathing under water so on and so forth. I don't think Pseudo's intention is to make the story mysterious, but merely entertaining. It's sort of like an RPG designed around taking the micky out of cliche RPGs. So far, I think the intro to the game, despite being the most uninspired piece of gameplay ever, is a very interesting piece of writing. I've never heard of any story (specifically video games) starting off in a child's imagination. I found it to be very entertaining when it was revealed.

I seem to be rambling a bit now though. I'll conclude with a segué thought, I was using the MARDEK Ch3 walkthrough to speedy along the water temple (the puzzle is rather long-winded and unfortunately, the walkthrough wasn't of much -- strike that -- any use as it's completely wrong). I noticed that there was a section entitled "commentary" which was left unfinished. It seems likely that Pseudo will never return to update the walkthrough, but I would really like to see a commentary of any-sort on the game. Particularly if it was not too dissimilar to Valve's developer commentary on HL2, just little snippits on the design or intent behind characters, scenes, gameplay, etcetera.

Still rambling...

Well the way it's written seems to suggest a Droma, of course I don't rule out that it could just be an Annunaki. You raise some good points about political rather than military take over. I'd be interesting to see how much damage the Annunaki has done, it teases the mind to think how much speculation can come from such small tid-bits of information.

You also seem to be rating people red randomly, you've given me numerous (and may I note, the only negative rating on some of them). You're a troll through and through. Before you use the fact I gave you a red rating as ammunition, I gave you that rating after you rated multiple of my comments red for no good reason (most of them were not even comments you could not have an opinion on!). I've also spoken with a few people who say the same as I.

So go on, rate this comment red, at least it'll have some merit to it this time.

It's not much of a spoiler to tell you that a Droma essentially looks like one of the Annunaki (GdM) but they're actually just a slave race according to the encyclopedia. You see them at the end of Ch II.

It seems likely that Mardek will indeed travel off-world (I'm sure it was hinted at by Rohoph a few times, though I have no particular quotes at hand). Enki's story doesn't make much sense though, if Enki is the Captain of the Goldfish, which at this point we're assuming he is then his story so far would go something along the lines of:
- Crashes near Xantusia -- likely due to the unusual gravitational pull of the planet
- Enki and surviving crewmen disembark and are rescued by the Reptoids, where they now reside until their ship is repaired
- (Likely long period of repairing the ship)
- Somewhen Enki has travelled across Belfan defeating monsters and such, met Mardek's mother and mated
- Enki has settled down with Mardek's mother until the birth of (or shortly after) Mardek, whereby he left on an "adventure" of sorts
- Enki claims to be searching for a "Gizmo" (Gizmometer most likely) in the north wastelands, far from Xantusia where the ship and most likely all of it's parts, are. The reasoning behind this is incomprehensible.
- Enki is as far as we know, injured but alive. He has possibly come into contact with Droma too (suggested by his dream stone see [LINK] for my speculation on this)

The issues are pretty clear:
- He settled down in Gonzor briefly, and started a family, all the while intending to eventually return home -- to Ninevah.
- He is an "adventurer" of sorts, meaning he has focused less on the task at hand, and more on settling in on this world, very usually.
- He is in the northen wastelands, far away from Xantusia where the Gizmometer was found, and likely all the rest of the broken ship parts. Note that according to the First Officer the Gizmometer was the last missing piece.

The word "yoon" does not actually exist. If you look it up on Google the most "informative" results you'll find are:
- It's a korean name; possibly meaning "the eldest"
- It's a English term of agreement or endearment (though I highly doubt the validity of this information, it is about as reliable as Urban Dictionary)

Yoon is more likely a "phonetic" spelling of a more commonly used word such as "one", I wrote a comment in reply to chui094's that details my reasoning for believing it is one as well as some rather delicious speculation as to what it refers to. Good read, if I do say so myself, and I do!

My best guess would be "one-eyed" (Enki speaks oddly, and this is the result of *odd* pronunciation of "one"). I don't particularly mean GdM, but it might be referring to the Droma, which are an army ("...an invasion it was..."). My particular reason for believing this is he says "...with a smile in their EYE..." suggesting they only have one eye and probably no mouth, again fitting the description of a Droma perfectly.

It's interesting to think that Enki might have encountered the Droma too. Of course, this is rather wild speculation on what little information we have, but it's very interesting (and a revelation I might add -- there is no mention of this anywhere on the wiki or as far as I am aware, anywhere).

Well, the game is still downloadable so you haven't actually pulled it from the market. Did Pseudo actually give you permission?
