That's right! I'm an undead lich, so I don't qualify as a living organism.

But seriously, I can wait. I wasn't veeery active on this website anyway.

I played the game, and I have to say it was quite nice. I think that your music added to the feel of the game, although some of the tracks were a bit short. They looped, and eventually it became a tad monotonous. The art style, while simplistic, captured the feel tremendously well, and the monsters looked well thought out. The level of customization available for such a simple game was nice, and I loved experimenting with color schemes when I unlocked new colors. My only problem with it is that there were only two areas of color; other than that, the system was sound. The bonus level at the end was entertaining.

My only real problem with the game is the pace at which your Vulpin walks. It made the game feel less fun because I had to walk from one end of an area to the other if I went back to Home, or went to another area. Perhaps a checkpoint in the middle of a level would be appropriate just to reduce the amount of time it takes to reach the bosses.

It worked! The image was uploaded after I reduced the size. It seems that the full-sized image for that screen somehow contained more data than the other full images I uploaded.

There's some sort of problem with uploading the start screen image. I'll try to re-size it and attempt to upload the image again.

Sorry about that link, Artimidor. I wrote this review before there was a link on the main page. The link is now fixed!

First of all, happy Birthday. I hope you can finally solve your financial needs.

Secondly, I have a few comments on this payment system proposed here.

I love the idea of "Fig Coins" which can be earned by either paying or referring people. I also like the idea of a "free coin per day". However, I think that you should maybe include a system in which "constructive Members" would get coins. This would be determined by a particular post catching your eye because of its quality, not the rating system. Maybe you'll like it, maybe not. It's just a suggestion.

I also have a question. Will the "core" FHO be free? Would you bar people who made something with the "core" tilesets, sprites, etc. from charging for their work?

I finally have one more suggestion. Perhaps you could allow artists to upload "custom tilesets and sprites". These would be third-party graphics packs that would be uploaded through some interface in FHO. People would be allowed to buy them, for cash or "fig Coins", and you would get a cut of the money, something like 10%-30%. It would allow FHO to become more modifiable, and also give you another source of money. You could (probably) do the same with custom music packs.

Also, one thing that FHO would require is some sort of scripting system that would allow for designers to create (truly) unique "campaigns". I mean, if the only thing it included was dialog box, item description, spell/skill, and menu customization, it would get boring after some time. Maybe, you (or designers, with a commission) could release "script Packs" which would contain pre-written scripts that only require certain variables to be filled out. This is only a suggestion, of course.

Well, those were my two cents. I wish you the best of luck in going forward with your life. I hope you can find a way to get over your social anxiety, or at least function in some way with it.

P.S.:
How would you be accepting payment for "Fig Coins"? PayPal takes a percent of all transfers, so you're really going to get somewhere around 50-70 cents for a $1 item. (the rate is 1.9% to 2.9% + $0.30 USD, plus currency conversion rates and cross border charges)

Testing a game involves lots of methodical work. I'm not sure that many people have the right mindset to go through every single feature, test every room, every tile, to see if there is a bug. Also, one must test things that weren't meant to be done in certain places to try and see if there will be an error.
Also, Sturgeon's Law states: "Nothing is always absolutely so", while Sturgeon's Revelation says "Ninety percent of everything is crap". These two lines sum up testing. The first explains the game, the second, the testers.

Well, I hope that those chosen can actually test.....

Hello. I'd like to beta-test "Clarence's Big Chance". I'm sorry if it's a bit late. I hope you consider me. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Yancho1.

I feel sad that my comment has received a -3 rating. What a cruel world.

"I hereby recommend Yancho1 to test this project, acknowledging that he proved himself reliable as a tester for the Age of Mythology fan-made mod and campaign Legends of Middle-earth (an adaptation of Lord of the Rings), timely providing quality feedback to help us further the project.

If confirmation for this recommendation is required, I will confirm in reply to an e-mail to guardianofisis[at]gmail[dot]com.

Guardian of Isis
Legends of Middle-earth Project Leader"

Here is the recommendation that I said I would acquire. I am re-posting it here because some people are too lazy to loom through the comments and see my other application, and instead give me violations for my other posting of this recommendation.
Good riddance, I say!
