I came across a pretty bad one. In the Sandflow Caves, there is a Save Crystal there that, when I used it to save, it registered everything as "undefined", and I was unable to load from it again. Oh well, I was planning on playing the game when it's uploaded here anyway.

Since I forgot to read the first post, I was using Firefox 3.6.6, and Flash player version 10.0.0.2.54.
The game's version is 3.3.059, and I set the storage maximum to unlimited.

There certainly are a good number of valid reasons to have chapters broken up iinto episodes, but others have already added in the best reasons as to why:

- Should a chapter be broken up, it may last a few hours, but as it stands, one of the main appeals of the game is its sheer size: a good 10+ hours on a chapter gives the game a great "meaty" feel to it, as if you're playing an actual RPG for a console (Or handheld, if you must nitpick), while having just a few hours per episode makes it just feel like another flash RPG. I've played through several myself, and really, MARDEK stands out above them for this. Another point is that with less time in an episode, Pseudo would have to alter the pacing of each episode so as to add in a small climax to each episode, as well as a smaller bit as a sort of cliffhanger for the next. With a longer game, he can build up more plot points and add more details in, giving the game a far nicer feel as far as the story goes.

Yeah, I know there's the arguement that there will be more content coming out faster, but I can't understand this point as well, since I'm one of the more patient types. (Read, I have better things to do than spend my time on a forum posting things like ""BAAAAAAAAAWWW WHY ISN'T MARDEK 3 OUT YET!??!")

There's two EXCEPTIONAL fights here that I'm rather surprised that no one's mentioned yet:

Earthbound: When you traverse from the rather happy, simple world of the game to the monotone and eerie Cave of the Past, you pass through a strangely... organic cave until you arrive at a SOMETHING which is the being that will destroy the world eventually. As the fight goes on, what you see collapses, and what you see of the boss is something that cannot be described with words: you see a strange, shifting image of an undescribable horror, with a VERY unsettling sound in the background, with strange messages coming at you. Overall, the fight is one of the most unique, horrifying, and emotionally draining in all video game history.

Tales of Symphonia: You fight a leader of a group that has split a world apart, and has caused widespread misery and suffering for his own twisted plans to bring about an "Age of lifeless beings" a world where there could be no hatred towards others for any reason, and ultimately you face off in a battle of ideals before combat.

In fact, both fights above aren't diffiicult at all, but they have a lot of things going for them that you don't usually see in a final fight.

Moreso than the generic editors for characters and the like, I'd like to know what's being implemented as far as storytelling capabilities go.

Will we be able to have ingame cinematics and the like? Most people are focused heavily on the gameplay, which is all well and good, but seeing as this IS an RPG, and we're creating our own quests, I'd rather not see people making in-depth "grinding" maps. A great story WILL be the most compelling reason to play a quest, and I'd like to see what tools will be given to us to be able to do so, to make ingame cinematics, sudden story events to happen out of nowhere (Triggered by setting foot in a certain area, etc.).

On an unrelated note, I'm also curious about how much of a detailed landscape we'll be able to create, whether we're limited to a landscape like the one we have, or if we'll be able to create say, mountain areas where you could see in the background a view of the land.

(Is this even the right thread for this?)

Well, I haven't been around enough to give a truly accurate opinion, but anyway:

Sure, people can post stupid stuff and not really be aware of it. I don't even want to THINK of all the stupid junk I posted on another forum about 6 years ago. Of course, I changed in due time, and other members could, but, of course, others may not, since, unfortunately, some people just don't have quite the capacity for maturity and intelligent discussions and debates. That being said, people here do seem rather fast to judge another person by their first few posts, which, of course, can be pretty... not up to par.

As a forum grows larger, more people of alll categories will come, but only some will stay, and from the look of things, there ARE a lot of kids that come here these days. What's keeping so many of them here, if there is a prominent enough part of the forumgoers here that dislikes them?

Some people here could well be acting out of a short temper and hatred to get others banned, but why? I wouldn't be surprised if some here were just tired of silly inane posts coming from preteens being posted, and as such, would just want them off the site ASAP. I'd say that a handful of forum moderators would be the best thing to keep forum post quality up, enforce rules, and issue polite warnings, but of course, that's not for me to decide.

I have no idea what this forum was like when it was much smaller, but at this point in time, the membership will kill itself off by being so quick and harsh to judge each other, but the forum would degenerate greatly should immature people keep coming along and destroying all potential depth of all discussions.

Sorry to say it, but I think you're better off going to some other site. You seem to be more into simpler things, judging from how you acted so far. And no, we aren't "hating", we're just pointing things out for what they are. Of course there's worse garbage out there, but just because there is, doesn't mean that we WOULD allow anything of that sort here.

Looks like you skimmed the rules before posting here. I'd recommend that you get to know what a community is like BEFORE you start posting in it.

No offense.

Rating Orb Julius, Chaotic Good Scientist – joined 10 years ago Better Weapon For Mardek?70.80.XXX.XXX10 years ago
As far as I know, there's some decent weapon drops deep in the Catacombs, as well as something at the end of the Trilobite Cave, assuming you've found all four keys and they didn't bug out of your inventory.

Otherwise, that's pretty much it, all of Mardek's specials point to him being mainly a healing/support character. Of course, things could change as the chapters progress, though.

As far as Catacombs weapons go, though, you can kill Pestilents for Maces, and Abominations for Shadowblades, although the droprates on both are quite low.

The same bug happened to me as well, also with the Basement IV key. I've already beaten the game without entering Social Fox's tomb, or the Trilobite cave, although it's irritating to know that there's some extras I've missed. I've heard of a few areas where the Trilobite Cave Basement 1 key can be found, though I'm still looking around. Where exactly IS the first cave key found?

I would assume that it would be an attack ability, seeing as a number of enemies also use an attack called Stone.
