The Cat
By Scorchfrost

Abandoned, alone
Left for dead by its own, lay
a calico kitten.

Past walked a man, a
man dressed in clothes not fine but
raggedy, in disrepair.

To the kitten walked
the man, and up he lifted
the kitten, into his coat.

Seven long months they
Lived, kitten and man in harmony.
Until one weekend.

"I must go away
for the weekend," said the man
To his neighbor, Frank.

"Would you take care of
my kitten?" he inquired.
Frank nodded, he would.

Three days passed, until the
man returned, but when he came,
the kitten was gone.

Ten long days they searched
In and out, all around the house
But they found no cat.

But one day, from the
bathroom, the man heard the cry
of a small kitten.

She had fallen from the
window, to the space between
the houses, and was stuck.

She was hungry, and
she was thirsty, and tired
and dirty. She was sad.

So the man, angry
now, not sad, sent Frank down the
window, on a rope.

Thanks for compiling this useful list! I would go into the fighunter wiki (the fighunter wikipedia section, you can get the link on the bar at the top of this page) , though, because I believe that they have a similar list there. Your efforts are not in vain, though, you can check yours against the fighunter wiki one, and see if there are any they missed you can add on, or any you've missed that you can add to yours! Take a look, the fighunter wiki has a lot of this stuff.

This reminds me, I really need to get back into Mardek 3! I played through it a long time ago up to the guardian battle which is followed by the Savior's battle. After numerous tries, I beat the guardian, then died at the hands of the Savior's, and got frustrated and gave up. :P

This code I have seems like it should work:

if (_root.haspotion == 1) {
_root.game.battle.command.potion1but._x = -57.6
_root.game.battle.command.potion1but._y = -13.0
POP! lip();
POP! lip();
}

When haspotion is activated, the first part works, because potion1but moves to the place I indicated in the script. For some reason, potion1fake stays where it is. I have tried many different things, even trying to make the x and y of the potion1fake 300 just to get rid of it, but for some reason it won't work. The instance names match. What's wrong?

Would it make a difference that both potion1but and potion1fake are buttons? They are also the same button, just with different code on them which makes it important I switch them.

JB, don't worry about it. It's sort of like going into a room with a bunch of social strangers, or a party or something. There are bound to be a couple jerks, (as I found out shortly after joined, though I won't point out usernames) but most people are incredibly nice and welcoming. Just be in chat and talk, and they will get to know you and think of you sort of like a friend. I have people on this site who I think of as friends, and I don't know anything about them except that they enjoy going on the fighunter chat.

So in short- don't worry! People are very nice and welcoming. And if a couple aren't, just ignore them!

You're quite right. I use Firefox 3.6.10 and it doesn't work either. Maybe Pseudolonewolf will fix this when he does other additions to the site, such as the figimon thingy that he plans to make at some time.

Also, how did you get the second link? Just curious.

I'm making a game and it's only my second game that I plan to publish. I need a bit of help. Thanks!

Just saying, the code I use is AS2, so you don't have to read it all and then realize that you use a higher version. Thanks.

The main character for my game has the ability to call up lightning bolts to strike the area in front of him. I used attachMovie to attach the lightning bolts to him. Unfortunately, if he jumps, so will the lightning bolt. Is there any way for the lightning bolt to get the _x and _y coordinates from him but keep them fixed?

Hi everyone, I have a problem with a game I'm working on and I wonder if anyone could help.

I'm making a tile-based game and for most of the game, your character is on a tile-based array. But I needed to be able to put a movieclip on the screen for text, and putting it onto the screen the normal way wouldn't work because it would be below the tile-based array. So I used this code to attach it:

_root.attachMovie("dialog","talking",201);
talking._x = 0
talking._y = 0

It worked! But then the problem came up... how would I make it so that when you press A, it would go to the next frame? Two problems actually.... one is that I don't know how to put code "on" the movieclip, only inside its timeline, and two I don't know what code to use to make it go to the next frame, for example if its on frame 1 go to frame 2, if its on frame 4 it would go to frame 5.

I used this code inside the first frame of the movieclip:

if (Key.isDown(65)) {
gotoAndStop(2);
}

stop();

But only the stop part of it works.

65 is the key code for A, by the way.

Could anyone please help me? Thanks!
