Greetings, readers. Since it's been a while since a fresh thread has sprung up in the Music Category, I felt it would be nice for all of us to share something new here.

As the title states, this thread is specifically for a small patch of lyrics from a song. Your favorite small patch of lyrics, to be precise! After quoting your favorite patch of lyrics, give a description of any length as to why they're your favorite lyrics. To give an example, I'll start.

Song: Don't Look Back in Anger
Artist: Oasis
Quote:
And soooo, Sally can wait,
She knows it's too late,
As we're walking on by.
...
Her soul slides away,
\"But don't look back in anger,\"
I heard you say...

Oasis is my favorite band of all time. Their music was with me through the most festive of times and through the most depressing of times. They helped me laugh, they helped me cry, they helped me live. This repeated chorus from "Don't Look Back in Anger" taught me to love my life, regardless of the bastards beside me. Oasis is just like their name. Once you find them in the middle of the desert you call your life, you cherish every moment of their godly music. Oasis, even though you've shrunken down to a mere Beady Eye now, your work prior to the event will Live Forever.

And there you have it. So feel free to share here! Everyone can pitch in and spread the good taste in music! Nourish FH's ears, I say! Nourish them! Nourish them with your fond tastes in musics!

Very well countered, Brock.

While I am not a USAian citizen, I have a few things to state about this.

Ethnic Diversity
My Uncle Steven, whom I'm very close to, lives in New Jersey, one of the original 13 colonies to declare independance from Britian. He has taken in a load of information about the USA during his short time there. He's lived there for only a few months, I believe. He states that because of the diversity of the USA, in other words, pertaining to no majority ethnicity all-around, this results in ethnic conflicts, such as color gangs, everday racism, and general idiocy & hatred. In Manville, the town he lives in, Hurricane Irene struck there around a month ago. Flooding ensued at an exponential rate in the valley, which takes up half of the town's land area, resulting in many residents of all varieties, with a majority of Mesoamerican descendants, evacuating to shelters by and inside of the local VFW. He states that he received very little food and water compared to someone of color. He was exasperated at how anyone whom was not of European descent was being pampered in a time of crisis. And this included children, as well. Basically, all residents of the USA are of different cultures. However, some come into the USA without becoming a legal citizen, instead trying to sneak over borders and oceans, bearing children for the sake of staying. This not only results in more hatred, but more suffering along the lands as well.

Economic Death Throes
There's the matter of the fact that the US is currently 3 trillion dollars in debt, and counting. Uncle Steven has told me that the gas prices have been reduced just a little, by around 20 cents each station. The entire world in general has a poor economy already. So, people are suffering in all countries due to a loss of monetary means of survival. Many people inside and out of the USA are losing homes for reasons beyond their control. They begin spiraling into deep depressions, much like their economy itself, and begin blaming other nationalities and ethnic groups. Of course, this is partially true, as the Al-Qaeda's suicide bombing on September 11th destroyed 3 out of... (10?) World Trade Centers, along with part of the Pentagon, and killed a few thousand people. Because the United States lost a major economical turret, their economy began to inflate even more than it had in the '90s. Of course, both Bush's and Obama's idiocy haven't exactly helped the situation either, what with Bush retaliating instantly by going to war, and Obama's whimsical tossing of money towards every little idea, and refusing to tax the wealthy at an enhanced level. And now here they are today, possibly reaching their death throes, trying desperately to hold on for dear life. And meanwhile, they think to themselves, "DAMN FOREIGNERS!!!!!!!!!!!"

Political Disputes
The United States is known for it's legendary 10 Amendments, its democracy, and other buggers that I'm either too lazy to write or don't know about. Anywho, as far as I know, there are two major political groups in the USA Congress: Republican & Democrat. Both sides obviously have their known flaws. Republicanism does believe in knowing the country's limit when it comes to helping others. Thus earning them the adjective "conservative." However, there are many things wrong with Republicanism. For one, they are stubborn, imperialistic, and have many hypocritical traits that lead to them becoming fascists, attempting to turn the United States into more of a political Empire rather than a Country. Now for the Democrats. They are more open-minded, generous, and believe in helping others. The problem here is that they fail to understand their limit, tossing money left and right the moment someone asks. This obviously results in them becoming so generous to the point of being self-destructive. Either way, this leads to the country's populous despising others based on their political party, race/ethnicity, social status, and wealth.

In conclusion, all three of these things are the cause of people hating the USA. People whom live outside of the US, however, do not have a right to state their opinion of the actual citizens until they've actually been there for at least a few days, walking around in a citizen's shoes, and vice-versa with the USAian citizens. Of course, if there were a way to fix this, things would be a lot better in the world. Even in shambles, this country manages to hang on by a thread as the world's superpower.

Many people think that as long as something is against a person of European descent, it's not racism. This is blatantly incorrect.

There are many cases of racism on all ends of the ethnicity line. This often results in people being discriminated against for their appearance rather than their personality.

Just today, my Uncle Steven in New Jersey stated that all the hispanics at his local shelter are getting thrice the amount of food that everyone else is getting. This includes the children, as well. He also told me that all of the European descendants have been receiving looks and whispers by the volunteers, as if they don't belong there, despite the fact that they've been suffering from intense flooding from Hurricane Irene just like all the people who aren't ethnically white.

If you've had an experience with a prejudiced person, and this applies to all ethnicities in all directions, then please share it here.

EDIT:

@Onisuzume: No, I do not mean Oniprejudice. Also, he has had nothing against the hispanic ethnic group. It's the fact that he's being hassled every time he seeks assistance simply because he's white. And when one would try to state that the Hispanic residents of the shelter are receiving more than everyone else, they get deemed racist because of their own skin color. It's a completely hypocritical situation, and he's in between a rock and a hard place because of it.

By Hispanic, he's referring to the Mesoamerican Hispanics.

Done and done. All military conflicts in the eastern Asian and Pacific areas are now over. But the twist is, you never wished for a specific WAY for them to be over. Both sides of each conflict annihilated each other, resulting in a trade loss across the world, due to the fact that many Asian countries supply first-world countries with many goods. Japan, of course, being near all of this, was caught in the crossfire of the final showdown between each nation. Eventually, the entire Asian continent becomes a wasteland, filled with desolate grounds, dead bodies, and crumbling buildings.

Way to go, you just completely disrupted world trade and the general economy. WHERE WILL WE GET OUR RICE NOW?!?!

I wish for.... I don't want to wish for my novel to become a success, because that wouldn't be satisfying to me.... I got it! I wish that I had the ability to type up a very great story in a very short time.

Rating Orb TheMightierWolf, Neutral Good Elite Gamer – joined 7 years ago Toothpick, Toothpick, Cigarette, WHEAT!69.115.XXX.XXX6 years ago
I've recently started a new form of facial attire that consisted of putting a toothpick in my mouth. Many people have claimed that putting something in your mouth like a cigar(ette) would normally act as an oral fixation, much like a pacifier to a baby, in which when in an anxious or unsettled state, the fashioner begins to twirl it around with his/her tongue.

I've contemplated on whether or not to do this for a while prior to beginning the usage of my box of toothpicks, mainly for the known cons of each object.

For a simple cigarette, this would likely be the riskiest, idiotic, and reckless option because for one thing, my mother's a 46-year old trainwreck whom smoked tobacco 31 years of her life, and I am around the same age when she started, so I most definitely would NOT want to go down the same road as her. The second reason would not only be that it damages one's lungs, but also leaves the smoker with yellow teeth and unbearable breath. Since I already have both, I really do not wish to make it any worse. The third and final reason is that I'd likely be looked down on for smoking underaged and I would have to convince a man of legal age to purchase them in my place. Due to "buyer's fees," not only would I be ruining my social status, good health, and family & romantic relationships, but I would also be draining my pocket until I'm 18 years old.

For a toothpick, they are, although cheap, common and useful for cleaning my mouth after a meal, also are firm, and therefore give me the risk of choking on one at the wrong time and/or place. Plus, from what I've been told by countless people, when wedged between the teeth frequently enough, these tiny splints of wood can leave hideous holes in one's teeth. As stated with the cigarettes, my teeth are bad enough.

For a strand of wheat, the main issue there is just the fact that they're not cheap. I mean, Kosice isn't necessarily a bustling metropolis in Europe, but that doesn't mean that untouched wheat is common around here, especially given the fact that I don't even know how far the nearest wheat farm is from the city.

I'm fairly certain that I'm not the only member of the Fighunter family that uses an oral fixation such as the three above. So please, I would appreciate of some people would share their thoughts.

Well, many small insects are known to exist in large numbers. This results in them permanently living with a "hive mind," or rather, millions of workers under the command and control of the "Queen," or ruler's conscience. Normally, animals of any variety act purely on primal instinct and only have the single goal of self-preservation. Domestication can often change mammals and reptile thoughts and minds, and therefore make them think more and develop emotional ways of thinking. They become more of a domestic conscience. However, insects are incapable of developing these forms of relations, because they are impossible to bond with. Yes, they can be domesticated to serve as a natural cultivation or agricultural assistance, but they cannot form a friendship or feeling of loyalty like a dog.

I see no harm in killing something in order to defend oneself or another. Or, as a matter of fact, if something is sick and conditions drastically get worse by the minute. There is a quote from the 1942 film "Jungle Book" from Mowgli.
Mowgli said:
In Jungle, you may only kill to eat or to keep from being eaten.

This basically states that it's okay for anyone or anything to kill, as long as it's for the sake of nourishing and preserving one's lifespan.

Now, when a fly comes into my presence, the buzzing tends to get to me. I would be able to tolerate it more if the buggers would stay out of my eyes, ears, nose, and mouth. Since technically, flies are a bunch of mindless, buzzing nuisances that don't benefit the ecosystem much at all, and their only thought is self-preservation, there's no harm in killing them. It's one fly, and it's not like it's an endangered species, like a Panda or a Koala.

Bacteria, I can't really say. Nobody would be alive if Bacteria did not die with each movement we made, so there's no harm in killing it, especially since there are many forms of bacteria that actually are quite life-threatening and can make other organisms sick, should we not be careful enough.

I'd say that as long as something doesn't have a conscience that runs to the same level as a reptile or mammal, there's no real reason to support saying they shouldn't be killed. Although there's no reason to support a genocide consisting of only that specific sort of organism either. Therefore, you could say my killing line goes a trite bit far.

GRANTED. This thread is now infinitely more popular than it's ever been. Too popular, as a matter of fact. Every time someone makes a corruption, they end up ninja-ing a bunch of other people. This results in aggravation between Wish-Corrupters. Eventually, the WC thread becomes so overly extended that the database breaks down due to overposting. Pseudo goes into a deep spiralling depression because of this and quits all his years of work. The police confirm he used Carbon Monoxide to do so.

Done. The Internet goes haywire and crashes. World of Warcraft players soon commit suicide after losing the very last thing they had. Trolls begin resorting to REAL mischief, and public crime escalates. Now everything must be searched through books and dictionaries. It's become the old days once more, where the most fun one could have is swinging on a tire that's hanging from a tree by a strand of rope. Technological researchers lose their jobs, and unemployment skyrockets. There are even some valuable political, military, and economic documents stored somewhere on the internet. Thanks to you, they're now gone, and political, military, and the economical bodies all begin to dissipate.

This results in the collapse of civilization.

Way to go, Tech-Killer.

I wish that all Countries on the planet were one, and that the lifestyles worldwide were prosperous. In other words, I wish the entire world was a First-world Country.

This thread is basically for the purpose of stating what this site really means to you. Whether or not we're really a family isn't the factor, but if anything's certain, we are a lot like one.

There are exponential numbers of us. We all help one another by offering guidance and wisdom. There are those of us who are pillars that tower above all the others as positive role models, and there are scum among us who bring shame to the very name Fig Hunter. There's the mischievous bunch of folks who can be a trite bit reckless at times, and there are those who give a warm and pleasant smile, like a small child would. There's those who are formal and would gladly contribute to the site's functions, and there are those who would rather hinder the site and make fools of themselves.

What do you think of this belief?

Would it be too naive to concur with this factor?

That everyone joined this site for a reason of getting away from their world?

If so, then what is your belief on what this place is?
