Well, the major downside to Ipod apps programming is the requirements. First of all, you need to learn Objective C, as Apple decided not to integrate flash for various reasons (some good, some not). Then, you also need a Mac, because all the compilers are for MAC OS. Apart from that, I'd say the biggest hurdle would be the inputs, you ned to think your game differently knowing that you won'T have a keyboard/mouse but a touchpad/acceleratometers (or whatever thay're called).

P.s. If anyone knows of a way to get over the Mac/compiler hurdle, please tell me. I'm also really interested in experimenting on Ipods but I don't want to have to pay 1000$+ for that only...

After looking at Pseudo's post I can definitly say that there is no "builds" for game development :P and that we are like oil and water...

Personnaly, What appeals me the most in a game is it's progression. I hate to be stagnant and do repetitive chores. So I like puzzles, becase things keep on getting harder and harder. I also like games with a good and complete story, however, that story must be split up equally through the game... I didn't really enjoyed FFVII only because I kept on being stuck listening to unskippable cinematics. However, I really like FFX becausethe cinematics were short and/or graphically awesome (thinking about the river ritual or the lunapalooza and such). Another way to pur a good progression is achievements, I played "big dungeon in the sky" for a pretty long time (about 4 playthrough), even though it was EXTREMELY repetitive and unchallenging, only because I felt that by doing so, I would unlock a better class. I finnaly stopped playing after realising that the best class were the dragons unlocked during 1st playthrough.

As for graphic vs. mecanic, as weird as it might seem I think mechanics are more suited for longer hames are graphics are more suited for short replayable games. Because I think art only give a punch and if the game is long (like Mardek 3), you have enough time to get used to the graphics so if they are really bad, you will care less about the graphics if the mechanics/story keep you playing, however, in short game, if you have great art, it will strike the player and it is what he will remind of your game, unless you've got killer mechanics (which also apply to long games, if you've got killer arts you can keep player enticed in your game).

Hope that wil help you and I also hope you will get more replies

Hi community,
I just decided to join fighunter, not because of the community or the creator or anything like this (sorry to disappoint you all), but primarily because of the depth of the profiles, I like how it focuses more on "How are you" than "Who are you", basically, I like the simple things like the clases/temperaments/ELEMENTS/"skills". I might not stay for long.. I usually end up dropping from most communities I join. I'm currently filling up my personal infos to make it look like more pseudo's (casic description at first, then points I'd like to make clearers then "skills" explanations).

Also here is a compilation of some questions I came across in presentations/attendences I now uses as an introduction quiz:

1. If you were to reincarnate into anything except a healthy human. What would you be?
A giant tree, I wanna feel how living plants are.
2. The food that best describe you ?
Lichi, I'm really weird and only a few peoples know me well
3. Do yo believe in an Extra-terrestrian life form ?
Yes, I think there are multiple foreing intelligent life form
4. Favorite season ?
Summer
5. Favorite Place/Country ?
I'd say a northern country near finland that way I can still enjoy snow and I can see Sonata Actica live
6. Favorite Object ?
any regular black ballpoint Pen
7. Of all the qualities what one would you most like to have (you can choose one you have already)?
good musician (electric guitar or keyboard)
8. Which of the 7 deadly sins are you ?
Gluttony
9. If you had a radio ham license what would you have it to be (basically 3 alphanumerical capitalized characters)?
(VE4) YKK, VE4 being because of my region
10. A name you would have liked to be named ?
Shannon Green

I think the chat message entry should be a bit bigger and there should be a vertical scrollbar instead of the current horizontal one. I just tried it for the first time and I couldn't even properly edit my message because I couldn't SEE it properly...

Flame/praise section:
Other than that, pretty good site, I like the personal info part with temperaments and "skills".
